One Hundred Degrees of Tucson

Enjoying 100 degrees at Tucson Pops #100degreesofTucsonThe mercury was showing 100 degrees as we threw out the blankets at Demeester Outdoor Performance Center last night for the Tucson Pops Concert, but as the sun set so did the temperatures. It was positively balmy as we settled in for a little music under the stars.

What better time to show off our glorious city in a project called One Hundred Degrees of Tucson than as temperatures hit records? You’ve got to love a place when it’s at its most fierce as well as in the sweet moments of winter, right?

Love Letters to Tucson’s sister site, We are Cardiff , has inspired us with their 100 days in Cardiff project. WeAreCardiff contributor Jeremy Rees is recording his days in and around Cardiff with 100 photographs of local points of interest. We’re going for more of the 100 things we love about Tucson when it’s over 100 degrees. Admittedly, this in part is to remind me of how much this place has to offer, when the swamp cooler stops being effective and I’m sitting in a hot, humid room with two aspirin white kiddos this summer. Want to join in the fun?

How to take part :
1. Take photos of things to love about Tucson in the summer heat throughout the next 100 days.

2. Post to Instagram or Twitter or the LLTT Facebook page with the tags #100DegreesofTucson and #ThisIsTucson (tying in to the #ThisIsTucson campaign shout out to Tucson Young Professionals and the Arizona Daily Star) Heck, throw in #LoveLetterstoTucson while you’re at it if you’re feeling generous.

3. Check out the #thisisTucson tagboard to see what folks are posting  and back on this site or on the LLTT Facebook page to see some of my favs.

Hang in there Tucson, it’s going to be a beautiful day!
